Disaster in Japan

I am going to forgo my usual Finally Friday in light of the terrible earthquake and tsunami, and the massive loss of life in Japan. 

Resources on how we can help are still being identified, but the Red Cross does have some information.

There is continuing coverage over at the HuffingtonPost, and some really frightening photos from Talking Points Memo.

I hope you'll keep the people of Japan, and other affected Pacific areas, in your thoughts and prayers. 

Update: It was suggested to me that to politicize this disaster is wrong.  I agree... to a point.  It is a legitimate point to note that Republicans have proposed cutting funding for the very things which monitor things like earthquakes and tsunamis.

Budgets matter.  Politics matter.  Elections have consequences.
