You know, the bravery of the men and women who serve in places like Iraq and Afghanistan is an inspiring thing. The story of the young Marine who has won the Medal of Honor is really quite remarkable. More detail on exactly what he did here, at NPR.

Being a father lowers your testosterone. And that matters.
Or maybe it doesn't.
You know what? I'd read that piece and find out, but I've got to feed my kid, do tubby time, play with her, put her to bed, and then clean up the house. Make of that what you will.

It's not actually funny, but you could say this trader at UBS had a really, really bad day.
A rogue trader for the Swiss bank UBS was arrested in London on Thursday, authorities said, and is suspected of causing an estimated $2 billion loss in unauthorized trades.
What does "rogue" trader mean? Was he a trader for UBS, or was he the some guy off the street who happened to sneak into the UBS offices and started playing around on the CEO's computer while he was at the water cooler? If the guy wasn't authorized to make the trades, then how did he get access to that much money in the first place? He'll be punished, no doubt, but you have to wonder if UBS has the appropriate safeguards in place to monitor who has access to the money.
Look, I have my bad days. But I can safely assure you, even on my very worst day, I've never lost anyone $2 billion.

And in other financial news involving, apparently, the Marx Brothers, this: SEC throws out preliminary investigation documents on big banks and Bernie Madoff.
