"I think the quickest thing we could do to move out of this would be to clear this mortgage debt more quickly."
I know he's busy with his work at the Clinton Global Initiative, but I know in his heart that President Clinton is, even after a decade of retirement from the game, a political animal. I haven't seen anyone talk about this with respect to Election 2012, but you have to think that Team Obama (that is, Campaign Team Obama) would consider Bill Clinton to be an asset this time around (versus last time, when he went cukoo bananas, albeit in defense of his wife, herself seeking the nomination at the time).
If that's true, if I'm right on that, I wonder how they might employ the best campaigner in a generation.
I wouldn't be able to guess the details, but don't be too surprised if we see more of the ol' boss out there in the next few months. I'm sure he'd love to shake a few hands, raise a few bucks.

The link there to TPM has the video. Here's the link to Politico, with the quote:
“So I believe whoever wins this straw poll on Saturday will be the Republican nominee and I believe the Republican nominee will be the next President,” Scott told host Gretchen Carlson who was broadcasting from The Villages.
Okay, then. So there you have it.
Man, how great would it be if, like, Herman Cain won?

My brother has a couple of new posts up on his blog for his high school students (I like the newest one, here). There's something fantastic about his blog -- maybe it's that he's writing for his students, maybe it's some of the student responses he gets. Maybe it's just because he's always been a passionate guy.

As of right now, the Tampa Bay Rays are 1 and a half (the Sox lost game one of a double-header against the Orioles today) behind the Red Sox in the wildcard chase. They face the first-place Yankees next. Whoo, boy.
Over in the American League Central, the Detroit Tigers have already clinched the Division. As for the American League West, you have to be looking at the Texas Rangers.
And in the National League East, Philly has clinched their own Division. The Milwaukee Brewers and Arizona Diamondbacks are leading the Central and West Divisions, respectively.
Let's go Rays!
