The clowns at CPAC are always good for blog fodder. This time it's Mitt Romney, who I think we can safely say is "embattled" with respect being the Republican front-runner for the presidential nomination, who looks like an idiot.
The awkward elements of Mitt Romney’s speech at CPAC Friday began even before the flailing GOP frontrunner opened his mouth.
Like all the high-profile speakers before him, Romney delivered his address from the CPAC main stage at a Marriot hotel in Washington, DC. That means he stood behind a pair of teleprompters and in front of a pair of fake Grecian columns.
...Here’s part of the transcript from Romney’s Colorado speech on February 7):
Three years ago, Barack Obama came to Colorado to accept his Party’s nomination. He rented out a huge stadium. He hauled in some Styrofoam Greek columns and two giant screens to set the mood. On that big stage in Denver, he made some even bigger promises.
At either side of Romney while he spoke at CPAC? Two giant screens.
The thing about Romney is when he is down, he really flails around.
Makes for some classic comedy.

...And on that note, Memo to Mitt Romney: don't associate yourself with Rick Scott in any way, shape or form. Ever.
Or do. Whatever, dude.

TIME magazine still thinks you're stupid. Still. It's actually really depressing, and if you think about what other media outlets may be engaging in that sort of practice, really scary.

If former State Senator Charlie Justice runs for County Commission (I kind of assume against conservative Republican Nancy Bostock, but maybe conservative Republican Neil Brickfield), then that would immediately be one of the races to watch in the Tampa Bay area -- maybe in all of Florida.
I'm a big Charlie Justice fan, and you could count on a lot of cheerleading for him from this blog, for sure.

In other local news, less conservative Republican Mark Sharpe, a Hillsborough County Commissioner, is suspending his congressional campaign against Congresswoman Kathy Castor.
I wrote about redistricting the other day (here and here), and that's what this is about. Castor's new district just isn't favorable enough to mount a campaign against her, even for a fairly moderate guy like Sharpe.

From Pensito Review: are we ready to say that pretty much no one in America is eligible to be President of the United States?
Who knew the birther saga continued...
